Malaysia's biggest superclub Movement has been totally destroyed in a fire, which spread through the former cinema last week (January 4). According to reports on local news portal Get Asia, the fire spread so quickly that building's roof collapsed on the floor below destroying the sound system and club's fixtures and fittings virtually totally.

The fire meant that Danny Rampling was the last DJ to perform at the China Town venue, having DJed there on New Years Eve. Since opening in 2,000 Movement had become a key stopping off point for many globe trotting DJs, being superbly located for DJs travelling to and from Australia.

"Our deepest condolences to Movement and the Substance crew, it was a great club with a rockin' sound system," said Singapore clubbers Godwin and Barry on local dance portal Community Zero, alongside other messages from disappointed dance fans.
