Karen Lehner: Intelligent Dance Music Lyrics

American drum & bass chanteuse Karen Lehner looks poised for a hit in the UK with the release of her new single Made To Order, an articulate examination of the state of the fashion nation. Remixed by Jamie Myerson, the track bears musical comparison with The Sneaker Pimps (during their Kelli Ali period) though lyrically sits far closer to Tori Amos.

"It's tits up, Lips pout/ Filled In/ Sucked Out/ Graded/ Shaded/ Anorexic and Inflated", she sings concluding, "Mass produced custom fit".

Myerson, in fact, previously worked with the Sneaker Pimps (as well as Dubstar) though here he delivers several versions including the Dub 2002 mix which vocoders up Karen's vocals while pumping under a thunderous disco beat.

Well worth checking out for its lyrical content alone, Made To Order comes out on Grey Mause Records shortly.
