Judge Jules Goes Retro Up North

Judge Jules has announced details of his latest Judgement Sunday event, which takes place at the 7,000 capacity superclub Tall Trees on Sunday March 31st.The bank holiday weekend event in the North of England (near Middlesbrough) sees Jules joining forces with Hed Kandi and the venue's best known promoters Retro.

Jules, Ferry Corsten and Fergie will be appearing in the club's massive main room, while Paul Taylor headlines the Retro Ballroom, spinning old school classics. The connection between Retro and Judgement Sunday represents a coup for the Northern promoters since Jules told Skrufff last week he's generally unimpressed with the current old skool revival.

"I think it's a marketing thing right now," said Jules. "There are some great old tunes and I really enjoyed doing the Retro essential mix recently (on Radio 1) and it actually forced me to sort my record collection out, which is nice."

"But a lot of the talk about old skool is, to some extent, driven by compilation manufacturers trying to carve another niche out of the market."
