Within the drum and bass arena, Goldie stands as the scene's most influential players. Schooled on the hip hop ethos of the early 1980s, his subsequent influences on drum and bass as both DJ and producer have been far reaching.

Formed in 1994, his Metalheadz label has been responsible for a number of seminal releases including Goldie's now-classic album 'Timeless' as well as the 'Metalbox' and 'Platinum Breaks' compilations. The philosophy behind the label is to "explore the roots of breakbeat and jungle and rework then into drum and bass in a dancefloor revolution led by the DJs and producers".

After a much needed hiatus, Metalheadz is back with one of the most anticipated drum and bass compilations of the year. The double CD release, selected and mixed by Goldie, 'MDZ.02' brings together a selection of artists who are currently carrying the cred for the label.

All tracks featured are new and exclusive to this release, and come courtesy of the best names in the scene including Marcus Intalex, The Spirit, Loxy & Ink, Teebee, Klute, Hidden Agenda, FutureCut, Total Science and Usual Suspects.
