I'm a Radio 1 DJ, Get Me Out Of Here

Former Radio 1 superstar DJ Tony Blackburn, who recently won British reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, never got over leaving the station, he told the Mirror this week.

"Being at Radio 1 was like being a pop star," the 59 year old veteran recalled. "And I feel like I still am- I always have been in my mind."

Several of the station's current crop of DJs could soon be joining Blackburn as Ex Radio 1 jocks in the near future, according to a report in this week's Standard.

"After losing (audience) figures they've been told to sort it out," a Radio 1 source told the paper.

"This doesn't necessarily mean they're going to lose their key DJs overnight but it does mean that over the next year, two years, it's got to kick ass again."

Cheesy trance anthems man Dave Pearce is said to be most at risk of losing his show.
