Ibiza Strike Chaos Looms

Airport staff, hotel, restaurant and bar workers in Ibiza have all announced plans to stage a series of strikes throughout the summer that could cause chaos throughout the island. 35 temporary workers at Ibiza's airport will be staging two hour stoppages on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (key charter flight days) from July 19, according to a report on Ananova.com, threatrening travellers with serious potential delays.

Spanish trade unions representing cleaners, bar staff, waiters and chefs have also announced they'll be staging 9 days worth of strikes in Ibiza between July 26 and August 18. The latter strikes are tied in with planned actions across the whole of the Costa del Sol and could ruin potentially hundreds of thousands of holidays (The Guardian).
