So Solid Crew and their chart-topping offshoot Oxide & Neutrino have both been pulled out of this year's Homelands festival, following "unprecedented police pressure", Homelands promoters announced this week.

"Hampshire Constabulary & Winchester City Council have made it extremely clear that the event would not be policed and the licence would not be issued if either of these two acts appeared," said Mean Fiddler chief Melvin Benn.

"Therefore, Homelands has reluctantly had to accept that asking So Solid Crew and Oxide & Neutrino not to play Homelands festival is the only course of action."

"A high profile replacement act will be added to the Homelands bill soon," he added.

Homelands takes place on June 1st, the same day that England launch their World Cup (soccer) campaign and the first day of the Golden Jubilee street party celebrations.

Skrufff Correction; Kosheen and Mis-teeq will not be playing at Homelands, as incorrectly suggested last week.
