Homeland's 2002 Ticket Sales a "Disappointment"

Melvin Benn, Mean Fiddler's day to day boss and the man behind the annual Homelands dance festival has admitted that this year's ticket sales failed to match previous years, telling Music Week they were a "disappointment."

The annual event faced problems after booking UK garage acts So Solid Crew and Oxide & Neutrino, whose reputation for attracting gun toting, violent fans prompted police to demand their removal from the bill. Instead, the event relied on their usual line-up of superstar DJs plus live sets from 80s electro pioneers Soft Cell, Royksopp and Basement Jaxx.

"We clearly have to have a musical policy rethink for next year's event," said Benn.
