Hacienda Property Developers Slammed By Acid House

Legendary Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam has branded the developers of an apartment block on the site of the Manchester club "shameless" for marketing their flats around the seminal acid house club. Crosby Homes, who knocked down the original warehouse to rebuild luxury flats, have been using the Hacienda's original branding and reputation in brochures and publicity.

"The old Hacienda crew and the Manchester clubbing fraternity are up in arms," City Life editor Luke Bainbridge told the Guardian.

"That generation was very anti-establishment and felt that with the Hacienda they were experiencing the second summer of love. The marketing of the new apartments is sick."
