Grandmaster Flash Announces European Tour Dates

DJ Grandmaster Flash will be spinning in Germany, Switzerland and towns across the UK this October in what will be his second European tour of the year. Before this year, the legendary hip hop pioneer last played in Europe some 20 years ago though also popped up at London's Ministry Of Sound flagship venue last week, to showcase his own design new mixer by Rane Electronics.

"I get major respect, because I've decided to stay visible," Flash told Skrufff before the gig. "I talk to people, I DJ, I play sets to 18 year old people or 30 year olds, black, white, young old and I'm still here."

He also revealed he's more than happy with how hip hop has progressed.

"There are those who might have a problem with today's hip hop but then if it had stayed in the Bronx I wouldn't be sitting here in London talking to you," he said.

"That's how I see it, it needed to move and keep growing with more people getting involved with different points of view and today it's something that's loved by so many people in so many places. Hip hop is the most popular music on the planet and I'm happy about that, being one of its creators."
