Goodbye to the Goods Shed

Future Entertainment pays tribute to the Goods Shed with the final ever event at what has, in a short amount of time, grown to be one of Melbourne's favourite party venues.

After six months of memorable partying, having featured nights like Dave Seaman's Global Underground Melbourne event, the God's Kitchen tour, and the famous 900 Degrees party, the Goods Shed is to close forever.

To send it out in the style it deserves, 'The Last Supper' on Easter Saturday 30th March will present Australia's own ex-pat Anthony Pappa, playing alongside Peace Division's Clive Henry from the UK.

Anthony Pappa has been taking on the world with his hard progressive sound ever since leaving his native Melbourne and heading to England after winning a Mixmag DJ competition. Hooking up with Dave Seaman, Anthony's Freefall project was signed to Seaman's Stress label, and released successful singles like 'Shrug' and 'Skydive'. Meanwhile his deft mixing skills were called into play on releases like 'Renaissance Volume 2', 'The Best Of Platipus' and Global Underground's 'Nu Breed' series.

With UK dates at Gatecrasher, Renaissance, Lush, Cream and Glasgow's Colours, Anthony has also made an impact on the US market, having scored a residency at New York's Twilo - in between touring the rest of the world, and homeland Australia, many times over.

Meanwhile, Peace Division, through the success of their highly acclaimed releases, are now considered amongst England's finest production and remixing teams. Prior to that, one-half of the duo, Clive Henry, produced under the names SAS, Half, Syndromeda, The Pain Gang and Mind Becomes Drum. But Clive's endeavours to produce a deeper sound led him to form Peace Division (as well as alter ego Soul Purpose) with partner Justin Drake.

The pair has gone on to release tracks through the Camouflage, Hooj and JBO labels, as well as their own Low Pressings imprint. Peace Division's 'Junkyard Funk' album received huge praise from DJ's worldwide, with Danny Tenaglia remarking: "Never before have I played so many tracks by the same artist in one night!" As a DJ, Clive is now resident at London's Elements, as well as playing at Fabric, Home, The End, Cream and Space in Ibiza.

For 'The 'Last Supper', Anthony Pappa and Clive Henry will be joined by Australia's best in Sean Quinn, Mark James, Sam Fraser, Chris Meehan and Kasey Taylor.

Unlike Jesus at Easter though, the Goods Shed will not be experiencing a resurrection, so get your tickets now at $35 plus booking fee from 188D, Alley Tunes, Bizar, CC Records (Geelong), DMC Records, Hardware Records, Inacoma, Ministry of Style, Mooks, Platinum Records, Poetic Jungle, Rhythm & Soul, Sanity Dance Arena (Bourke St, Chapel St, Dandenong, Doncaster, Highpoint, Southland), and all Ticketek outlets (phone 13 28 49).
