Drum & bass DJ turned TV soap actor Goldie was the first contestant ejected from British reality TV show Big Brother this week, prompting derision from both the press and his fellow contestants.

"So, farewell then Goldie, I just hope you are strong enough to deal with the fact you are less popular than Les Dennis," crowed the Mirror's TV critic (Les Dennis is a much mocked mainstream TV presenter).

Former Take That star Mark Owen was even crueller, dubbing Goldie MC Rage and quipping that he'd probably be waiting for the survivors outside with a machete (Metro).

More seriously for the high profile character, The News of the World revealed that the FBI are investigating revelations in Goldie's new autobiography in which he confessed to dealing kilos of cocaine in Miami, with an organised crime group based in the States.

"One night we sat up and counted out $198,000," he admits in the book Nine Lives. "|t took a long time to count, but it was worth it."
