Promoters of Washington DC's best known club Buzz are leaving the city, citing harassment from both the Federal government and the United States Military.
Customers were increasingly targeted by cops while management were threatened with losing their licence, they said, suggesting their campaigning against the RAVE act had prompted the unprecedented pressure.

"It is unfortunate that events that cater to the youth of America historically become targets of government agencies," said Amanda Huie, Buzzlife Director of PR and Marketing.

"As leaders in this industry, we will not allow Buzz to become a scapegoat, and in essence, tarnish all electronic dance music events."

"This is a bad omen for dance music culture in America," said Steve Levy, President of Moonshine Music.

"I'm really upset by this. Nation is honestly my favourite venue in the World. Scott and Lieven really set the standard for U.S. electronic music venues and it sucks they are being forced to close the doors on the culture that they helped build."
