Of his musical beginnings, Melbourne based Producer and DJ Kam Denny laughs, "I learnt the Triangle at about age 5, and then moved on to a Casio Keyboard before getting serious"…And with his 16th Element project, things are getting definitely getting serious.

But back to the beginnings…

Apart from his interests in artists such as Jean Michelle Jarre, Rick Waitman, Kraftwerk and early funk legends such as James Brown, Jimmy Bo Horne, and Bohannon, it seems that Kam's friends have been very helpful to his chosen career… One introduced him to DJing about 9 years ago, and another introduced him to the recording studio back in 1992. It was in this studio that Kam first started writing and producing, as he puts it "just playing around with ideas", until he slowly began getting some of his own gear and taking things a step further.

"Circulate" by Krank, a project which was one half Kam was released on Australia's Vicious Grooves label back in 1996 and then there was a lengthy hiatus until Vicious and Cam crossed paths again and Kam joined the label with his own solo project in early 2001. "Well Strung" and "Warp" were the first two cuts to arrive and were released on vinyl as a double A-side by Vicious in August 2001. Quickly gaining International support from the likes of D:Fuse, Sandra Collins, Chris Fortier and co, the track grew with DJ's Eric Morillo, Roger Sanchez and Danny Rampling all giving it major support with the limited number of Vicious pressings doing the rounds. Now, over 6 months on and the buzz is as big as ever with Subliminal in the USA and Loaded in the UK both licensing "Warp / Well Strung". Loaded released "Warp" with a remix by none other than X-press 2, likewise Kam was asked to give X-Press 2's new single "Lazy" a 16th Element re work. Both Subliminal and Loaded's releases have gained major props way beyond expectations, hitting all major international dance charts and receiving grand reviews - #4 in the buzz chart, # 3 in cool cuts, and #4 in Muzik chart to name just a few. "Warp" has now reached the ears of thousands, being played on Radio 1 by Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine and hitting Ministry Radio and other radio across the UK.

Warp/Well Strung is now licensed to Belgium, Spain and Italy. The Australian CD single release will feature an exclusive UK X-Press 2 remix of "Warp" and also the Jaded Vs Andy Van Re rub of "Well Strung". This is set for release July 1, '02.

Kam's Djing has taken a bit of a back seat to his productions of late but that is something, which he will rectify over the coming months. When asked of his current influences he answers, "Anything on the tough tip…Harry Choo Choo, Timo Maas, Daft Punk through to Danny Tenaglia. Actually I'm just a fickle bastard".

On the production front, Kam also has his wonderfully titled Neurotic Jock project out on Vicious with "Therapy", a deep, dark, dirty tribal groove already floating around on some whites and set for release in the UK in early July on Vicious.
