Zac Foley, bass player from EMF, died after taking a cocktail of heroin, cocaine and alcohol, according to an inquest into the 31 year old's death which finished this week. His body was discovered on the floor of a friend's flat in Camden alongside crack cocaine, empty vodka bottles and burnt tin foil on January 2nd, after he'd reportedly been celebrating New Years Eve.

His death came just 9 years after EMF achieved a worldwide platinum hit with their debut single Unbelievable which saw the band briefly acclaimed (alongside Jesus Jones) as pioneers of a new musical "British invasion". In fact, Unbelievable marked the high spot of the band's career and just three years later they were dropped from EMI (Parlophone).

"The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long" a memorial says on the band's website.
