Tennent's Lager are pleased to announce that this year's tripTych music festival will take place over the weekend of the 26th - 28th April, with another programme of top quality events in venues across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

This year's line-up is aimed squarely at the underground music community: from cutting edge electronic experimentation to New York punk-funk, via deep dub-reggae and sweet, soulful disco.

Artistic visionary, techno innovator and mentor to a generation of producers and DJs, Derrick May, leads the bill, returning to tripTych following his and Kevin Saunderson‚s exclusive four-deck show last year, for three blistering DJ sets.

Electronic virtuoso Richie Hawtin will also be taking to the stage in each of the cities, breaking down the boundaries between DJ skills and live performance with his revolutionary Final Scratch software. Another leading light of the techno scene, Luke Slater, joins him for two live shows.

At the opposite end of the dance music spectrum is David Mancuso. The grandfather of nightclubbing is putting in an eight hour stint behind the decks, crafting his unique take on soul and funk-fuelled disco, recreating the legendary atmosphere of The Loft on this side of the pond.

If Mancuso represents the old school, Osunlade takes inspiration from similar territory with an eye on the future, drawing on his jazz and R&B background to merge a forward-looking combination of African rhythms and deepest house. Susumu Yokota, once known as a straight-up house and techno producer has switched styles of late, and will be bringing his melodic ambient soundscapes to the UK for the first time. We also welcome Matthew Herbert - performing under his Radioboy guise ˆripping apart consumer culture with his bare hands, and sampling the results.

And that's just a taster from a wildly eclectic line-up that includes everything from indie veterans Teenage Fanclub to the lyrical anarchy of hip-hoppers Madlib...
