West Coast sampler maestro DJ Shadow has slammed George Bush in the sleeve notes of his new album "The Private Press" putting the president first in his list of "implicated" players.

"King George Bush 11 and his court," appears alongside "those who profit from the misery of others, and "journalists who aren't trying", in Shadow's "Implication" section as well as "those who refuse to accept change within hip hop."

Renowned as a musical perfectionist, he's clearly applied the same care and attention to what's otherwise a vast collection of positive namechecks, and his decision to actively mock the US president is clearly heart felt. Even his use of the term "implication" is unusual, since to implicate means "to show that somebody played a part in or is connected to an activity, such as a crime."

The Private Press is out now on Island/ Universal and is even better than his 1996 album Endtroducing.
