Jemaah Islamiyah, the Indonesian Muslim group linked to last weekend's horrific Bali bombings has been targeting nightclubs as symbols of "debased Western culture" according to a report in this week's Guardian. The terrorists could also be planning more attacks throughout South-East Asia, the paper reported, with Koh Samui and presumably Koh Phan Ngan (home of the infamous Full Moon parties) also particularly at risk.

However, Bali Tourist Office spokesman Agung Gede Rai complained about official warnings to Western tourists to stay away from Indonesia, and called for tourists to return.

"Let's be fair. After the attack on the World Trade Center, no country warned its citizens to travel to New York. So why are they doing it to us-" he asked.

"OK, paradise has been marred by blood and smoke, but Bali is Bali and the people are as friendly as ever."
