The world's most popular techno DJ Carl Cox will be in Rio De Janiero for this year's Carnival, playing at least twice over the Carnival weekend, his agents told Skrufff's Camilo Rocha this week. Prior to Brazil, he'll be spinning at Argentina's Pacha club (Buenos Aires) on February 8th, before flying up to Rio on the 9th to DJ at Marina Da Gloria (February 9th). On the 11th, he plays in Maresias at Event concluding at the Carnival Parade in Salvador on February 12th,

Q magazine also revealed this week that Carl owns a much-cherished collection of home videos of old skool raves, in an article about the rising popularity of late 80s dance music, in the UK.

"Memories of setting up sound systems in dodgy warehouse parties in East London are fantastic- all the early Sunrises and Back To The Futures, police helicopters coming over, people dancing on their cars . . . It was pretty goddamn amazing," he recalled.

Carl also releases a new mix CD, Global, in February, via his own new website CarlCox.com.
