A UK based website has started selling home ecstasy testing kits over the net with each kit being able to perform up to 50 tests. Ingredient45.com is the brainchild of web designer Matt McNeill who decided to launch his service after witnessing a friend hospitalised after swallowing a 'rogue pill'.

"I wanted to help stop this happening to others and as recreational drug use is here to stay and more and more 'rogue' pills are appearing, I realised that the only real way to make a difference is to focus on harm minimisation," he explains. "That is, by stopping them taking something they might have taken, by providing them with more information."

His site could well prove popular with Mix Mag readers judging by the results of their latest annual drugs survey, which reveals that their average reader takes 3.4 ecstasy pills per session, on average of 4.29 times a month (effectively every single week). Mix Mag readers also appear to be increasingly buying in bulk, away from nightclubs, the survey suggests, with respondents buying an average of 12 pills a time.
