An opportunist computer thief has stolen two computers from hard trance producers Baby Doc and S-J, containing their entire database of fans and industry contacts.

"We've lost all our data including over 4,000 fan mails from around the world, which is particularly upsetting since we've always tried to stay in touch with and look after our fans," S-J told Skrufff's Jonty Adderley this week.

"I've reported the incident to the police but nothing seems to have happened and it's become a real nightmare. It's awful."

The duo lost both computers after deciding to get them fixed simultaneously after one contracted a virus.

"We'd sent in our computers to be repaired, and instead of them delivering the machines back to our studio address they handed them over to a stranger wearing a suit outside the building, on the street (Grays Inn Road, Central London). He signed for them, and was presumably an opportunist thief," said S-J.

"One computer lived at home while the other was at the studio, with one backing up the other, so I never thought to print things out because I never imagined losing them both on the same day."

S-J is asking for fans and industry people alike to drop them an email to info@arriba-records.com with their email address and details to be added back onto a new database they're starting from scratch.
