100 Queens Say God Save the Queen

A procession of 100 drag queens will provide the centrepiece for this weekend's Purple In The Park gay and lesbian festival which has aligned itself with official Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

"We are official," event chief Colm Howard-Lloyd confirmed in this week's Daily Telegraph. "We moved this year's event forward so it could be part of the celebrations. The Jubilee office has been very helpful indeed."

The Brockwell Park pay party (tickets cost £15) is headlined by Grace Jones making her first UK appearance in 5 years, which various London clubs including DTPM and Crash hosting marquees. DJs include Alan Thompson, Boy George, Tom Stephan and Princess Julia while S-J will also be showcasing her new single Fever in the DTPM tent.
