Xmas Sex Tips: Strawberries Not Sausages

Women seeking romance at Christmas parties this season should hang around buffets nibbling snacks seductively, according to Cosmopolitan's latest guide to sexual success. However, care should be taken when choosing what to bite.

"Don't go for something like a quiche, choose something sexy like strawberries or kiwi fruit" urged Peta Heskell, author of a book called Flirt Coach. "Bite into the fruit, the juice will ooze out and you'll lick your lips- which is extremely seductive. Just make sure you look at the guy you fancy as you do."

Other factors to consider emerged in London's Standard this week, courtesy of media sex psychologist Susan Quilliam (who also writes for Cosmo and Loaded).

"In a room of 100 people of the opposite sex we blank out the too old, the too young, the too fat and to too bald. We hone in on what's left, based on our experience and little ripples from our past which are usually unconscious," she said. "Once people speak, we screen out even more. We don't like their tone of voice, their accent or what they have to say. After that, you're in deep psychological territory."

In more Brit sex news, the latest National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles, revealed this week that the number of women admitting homosexual encounters has tripled in the last ten years, while almost 10% of London men admit to paying for sex.

"People reported more sexual partners, homosexual experience, contact with prostitutes and condom use than they did 10 years ago," said Anne Johnson, the London University Professor behind one of the reports. "We have become a more tolerant and less homophobic society."
