So Solid Crew's entire UK tour was cancelled this week over safety concerns prompted by the double shooting at their recent London Astoria show. While the Crew instantly compared themselves to the Sex Pistols (the last band to face such a ban, 25 years ago) Guardian pop critic Alexis Petrides was less sure.

"There is no sense that the very fabric of British morality will be rent in twain if So Solid Crew were allowed to tour," he suggested. "There is simply the worry that more people with guns will be attracted to a band whose lyrics are often concerned with guns and that somebody else will get shot."

The band are reportedly now trying to book a bigger London show in the New Year at either Wembley Arena or Docklands Arena (The Sun).
