Liverpool superclub organisation Cream have cancelled the planned New York
edition of their highly successful festival, Creamfields, just 4 weeks before its scheduled date. The event's co-producers SFX issued a statement on their website (sfx.com) this week, which attributed the cancellation to 'poor projected attendance' figures

"Both Clear Channel and Cream are hugely disappointed that the event is not going to take place this year," SFX said. "We would like to apologize to anyone who has already bought tickets and to anyone who was planning to do so."

Stereo MCs, Fatboy Slim and Orbital had been booked to headline the planned rave, which had been scheduled to take place at Enterprise Park, Riverhead on 1st September. Timo Maas, who was also booked to perform, will now be DJing back in the UK, at Cream's Liverpool headquarters. Creamfields US would have been one week later than Creamfields UK, an event that continues to be one of Britain's most popular dance festivals.
