The Amsterdam Dance Event organisation has invited Chic guitar player and renowned producer Nile Rodgers for a keynote interview at the sixth ADE, to take place on 15 - 16 - 17 November 2001 in Amsterdam. Rodgers keynote will be part of the ADE day program. Other panels: The Life of a Hit Record, Dutch Dance Charts, Remarkable Marketing Concepts and Territory Focus Meetings Germany & USA. The demo panels, some of the liveliest get togethers of the 2000 edition, will be organised once again. News became official on May 10, as the new ADE website went online.

With Chic being responsible for one of the worlds most sophisticated dance sounds, Nile Rodgers is widely recognized as one of the founders and pioneers of dance and electronic music. A career in music spanning thirty years, Rodgers has worked with artists ranging from Diana Ross and Madonna to Duran Duran and David Bowie, has boldly steered artists in directions never envisaged and has introduced millions of people to funk and soul grooves. Chic was at the forefront of disco music in the seventies, providing the genre with several of its all-time classics and indestructible anthems, a basis where dance music now still stands on.

As the June 1 registration deadline draws to a close, the Amsterdam Dance Event is expecting 1400 professional participants, several label showcases and the biggest media attention in its six years history. Other panel topics include the secrets of successful dance A&R, territory focus meeting Germany & USA, successful marketing concepts, consequences of sponsoring dance parties & festivals, Dutch dance charts, dance music in Eastern Europe, the life of a hit record and panels on music publishing, internet and online developments in the music industry. The ADE website, online since May 10, will give regular updates on news and program.

A business conference during the day and dance music festival at night, the ADE is Europe's main platform for labels, publishers, agents, managements, artists and DJs to get together, discover new music, do business, make new contacts, re-establish old ones and to share the buzz on new tracks and new artists. The ADE day program in the Felix Meritis conference centre - a beautiful theatre building overlooking one of Amsterdam canals - provides participants with three business lounges to meet & greet foreign peers in a relaxed, yet focussed setting, in-depth discussions with experts and music bizz veterans, provocative and exciting keynote speeches by the industry's most respected and obstinate artists, DJs and professionals and effective promotional opportunities. All the main European dance music magazines - both paper and online - send representatives to the ADE, giving acts some of the best thinkable international exposure.
The ADE night program takes place in De Melkweg, Paradiso, Escape and several other venues. Targeted mainly to present the most interesting and innovative contemporary artists and DJs, the ADE night program presents the widest thinkable spectrum of dance music, ranging from progressive techno to funk and jazz, and from lounge to garage and 2-step.
