Ministry Of Sound's in-house magazine Ministry have published one of the most drug friendly issues of any title yet seen in the UK, this month, with a cover article bearing the heading Spliff: The Future Is Here.

"Spliff. It's put Cadburys (chocolate) profit margins through the roof, burnt holes in a million hooded tops, eased untold nasty comedowns and made years of endless Star Trek Repeats bearable," said Ministry Editor Ollie Quain in her opening page 3 letter. "And soon you could be buying The Student's Favourite over the counter". The new issue also includes a hilarious feature by former Loaded writer Martin Deeson, who was sent to Portugal to check out whether the country's recent decriminalisation of all drugs was good for ecstasy using clubbers. After finding just one and a half ecstasy pills throughout his entire trip, he was clearly unimpressed.

"Maybe the Algarve will one day be the new Ibiza but at the moment there's such a long way to go and so little Ecstasy culture that you're better off staying at home," he advised. 'After all, drugs may not be decriminalised here (UK) but at least we all know where to get hold of them."

The magazine's return to controversial drug coverage followed a massive 20% drop in circulation (from 90,000 to 70,000) following the sudden departure of the title's previous editor some 8 months ago. They've also returned to soft porn in the new issue, running a Texas Chainsaw themed fashion article, featuring 8 pages of topless models drenched in ever increasing amounts of blood and guts (literally). Rather than condemning their abrupt U turn, though, the Skrufff team found the new issue to be the best one they've done in ages (if not ever). Mix Mag should be worried again.
