Gatecrasher is to reopen on Saturday July 7th, having completed a 'cooling off' period, five weeks after 160 riot police burst into the Sheffield superclub looking for drugs. "Following the raid on the 19th May 2001, the doors to Gatecrasher have remained shut for a five week 'cooling off' period'," organisers confirmed in a press release issued last week. "But dance fans needn't wait much longer - the legendary Gatecrasher club night is back. Once again they will witness the worlds best DJs, once again the GC lion will roar fiercely and triumphantly re-claiming its rightful place at the very top of the club hierarchy."

Tall Paul headlines on the (re) opening night and is joined by Japanese trance DJ Tokunaga making his UK DJing debut. Ferry Corsten, Mauro Picotto (spinning a 6 hour set) and rising hard house producer/DJ Scott Project (who's been making brilliant records for years) all make the trip up to Sheffield in subsequent weeks.
