GHB, sometimes known as liquid ecstasy is to be banned from retail sale in the UL, after London cops discovered it had been used in 70% of reported drug-induced rapes in a year. The drug is to be made Class C (ironically, the same category cannabis is to be downgraded to shortly) which means sex shops will no longer be able to sell it. Meanwhile in America, the Los Angeles Times reported this week that GHB is responsible for more annual emergency room visits -- 12,900 nationwide at last count -- than ecstasy."This is the most addictive drug I've ever seen," Dr. Stephen W. Smith, an emergency room doctor, told the Times. "People are desperate to get off of it because it's destroying their lives."
