Dancing is Satanic, Irish Figurehead Claims

Certain styles of dancing are evil, Irish protestant preacher Ian Paisley claimed this week, in a concerted attack on dance floor sinners. "The dancing of the world, (involving) hugging the other sex (and being) set to music is sensual and clearly caters to the lust of the flesh," Reverend Paisley told the Guardian. "It is as sinful as any other type of sexual gestures and touching. It is sensual, not a crucifying of lust but an excitement to lust."

Fortunately for God loving clubbers, Reverend Paisley (who's the head of the Free Presbyterian Church and a leading television personality in the UK and Eire) wasn't ranting about raving but instead about line dancing, which has swept Northern Ireland in recent years. Notoriously fetishistic (revellers dress up in cowboy gear including Stetsons and weird pointed boots) the sinister dance involves people standing in lines then 'dancing' to country music and Shania Twain. In a further statement that could unwittingly enhance line dancing's diabolical popularity, a fellow Presbyterian church leader explained; "It is very often that dancing has a sexual outcome."
