Daft Punk Are Garlic Eating, French Twatmongers- Muzik Declare

Muzik magazine launched an unprecedented assault on Daft Punk this week, after apparently taking exception to the French duo's recent collaboration with Gap (the clothing company).

"Gap ad- GAP AD-! Corporate cock-sucking, beige-cloth fondling, whoring pair of garlic-munching, stupid robot hat-wearing, French bastard twatmongers', Muzik spat. "That's all we have to say on the matter."

Their anti Daft Punk tirade continued in the same issue with an unusually harsh review of the band's new live album Alive 1997. 'More breakdowns than Mariah Carey but not as interesting," said Andrew Holmes. "They go on forever and they'll bore the pants off you. Fine if you're there (ie hearing DP live in 1997) but on your walkman- Non merci."

Muzik's new attitude towards Daft Punk's golden era of 1997 contrasted sharply with the magazine's original coverage which included cover articles referring to 'our Parisien friends' and their 'fantastic music'. "

"Everything about them speaks of 'la nouvelle vague, a fresh start, the next generation to rule the nation", Muzik's Calvin Bush said in 1997. "In other words Daft Punk really are the New Wave.'

Daft Punk's Alive 1997 is out now on Virgin and is, in the Skrufff team's view, an energy packed 45 minutes of top quality acid house (irrespective of their admittedly questionable decision to take Gap's money).
