Berlin's Love Parade Cancelled

Berlin's Love Parade has been cancelled following protests from rival environmental groups who stopped the event through effectively block booking demonstration rights throughout the summer (Berlin allows one a week). Hanover, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Leipzig have already offered to host the million plus event though as the Observer pointed out "taking the Love Parade away from Berlin would be like moving the Rio Carnival to Brasilia.". .
