Wild FM were forced to cancel their Wildfest Festival this week, after The Warp Brothers confirmed they were pulling out of their entire scheduled trip to Australia. "One of our headliners (Warp Brothers) has refused to fly and other acts are looking doubtful due to the current world crisis," Wildfest organisers announced on their website this Monday (8th October). "Apparently Heathrow was shut this morning and things are very uncertain in Europe. Due to these problems the decision was made earlier today to cancel the event."

West Coast US house DJ Mark Farina also cited terrorists threats as the reason behind his decision to pull out of a planned Australian DJing tour this week, just days before he'd been due to fly to Melbourne.

In better news for Australian clubbers, Ministry confirmed that Anthony Pappa and Ferry Corsten are both definitely flying into the country for their forthcoming Melbourne show, which takes place on Friday 19th October at QBH. 'We have spoken to both Ferry and Anthony yesterday and today (October 11th) in Singapore and they are getting some much needed rest before hitting Australia with a real tour de force of subliminal sets," said Ministry.

'It has been a tough time for clubbers here with many big name international DJ's cancelling dates - we are very happy that Ferry and Anthony have made such a big effort to get here."

Despite all the current tensions, Australia's best-known festival Big Day Out also remain positive about the medium term future, this week unveiling the first details of their line-up for 2002. The Prodigy, New Order, Dave Clarke and the Crystal Method have all been confirmed as headliners.
