Startling data from the world's first geographical study of sex has revealed that the world's sexiest women Brazilians could also be the world's greatest actresses. According to The Penguin Atlas of Sexual Behaviour no less than 44% of Brazilian women admit to faking orgasms. Even worse, they admit to doing it 'regularly'. The new atlas also revealed that one in four Germans are sexually turned on by underarm odour.

80s electro popsters the Pet Shop Boys appear to be sliding towards further obscurity, following the news that their West End musical Closer to Heaven has been cancelled just 6 months after opening. 'We simply couldn't get enough bums (asses) on seats,' a theatre spokesperson told the Standard.

London's acid techno producers are still making the same music US producers first pioneered 10 years ago, Richie Hawtin said this week, speaking in his capacity as Muzik magazine's guest reviewer. The British born Canadian also known as Plastikma, did, however, make one exception, for former Back to The Planet rhythm master D.A.V.E. The Drummer. 'I met D.A.V.E. a couple of years ago in Wisconsin and ever since then I've checked out his records," said Richie. 'Nothing would ever fit into my set but live he was blinding (excellent)". Londoners can catch D.A.V.E. (real name Henry) this Saturday night (29th September) at Brixton's minute Coldharbour Lane venue, 414.

Manumission micro-celeb Lady Victoria Hervey has been reported to the police after allegedly doing a runner from an unsuspecting London cab driver. The lawless Toff, whose boutique recently went bust, was dropped in front of a hair salon and evaded paying her £11 fare. 'Walking away from a cab is a criminal offence,' the driver told the Sun. 'If you have a title you should act like you have one.' Lady V subsequently claimed she'd 'forgot' and also denied last week's claims that she'd been hanging out with ubercad James Hewitt (Princess Diana's secret lover). Writing in her Sunday Times column, she claimed the mystery ginger haired companion spotted with her Ibiza Town was somebody else.

EMI, whose dance labels include Positiva, Additive, Credence and VC Recordings (Virgin) lost 35% of their share value this week (Tuesday 26) following an unexpected profit warning. "Trading may be tough but the music business is in deep trouble," The Guardian revealed. "The next move involves the internet and there is precious little evidence that EMI- for all the minority investments and joint ventures- has a real handle on the medium." EMI's shares fell to 214p compared to their peak value at the beginning of 2000 when they reached 799p.
