Homelands In Australia - Summer's Coming

Orbital, Public Enemy, Laurent Garnier and Green Velvet have been confirmed for homeland's first Australian event, taking place in Glenworth Valley, Sydney on Saturday 2nd December. Joining the headline live acts are 6 more live bands and more than 40 international DJs as well as local star jocks including Pee Wee Ferris, Phil Smart, Jason Bye and Tim McGee.

The format of the event appears to match its UK origins, comprising 6 arenas, plus the usual fairground rides, bars, chillout tents and takeaway food outlets. Unusually, though, the site is offering "limited" facilities for camping, even though the event finishes at 7am Sunday morning. It's also unlikely to rain, falling in the middle of Sydney's always hot summer. In terms of musical comparisons, the event's lineup, unlike this year's UK event, is dominated by house, techno and trance, with techno having a dramatically greater presence than in the UK. For further details (including information on homeland's next party in Melbourne - to be posted shortly)
