There has always been a scarce path available to aspiring DJs to make the transition from their anonymous existence into the spot light of the DJ industry.

Never before has an event such as Future DJ captured the backing of the industry with the support, strength and networks of almost every tertiary student union in this state.

Future DJ in short is a DJ competition that will nurture and showcase the aspiring DJs of tomorrow.

Various universities and tafes throughout the state will host local heats and finals that not only aims to give less experienced DJs the chance to perform infront of a supportive audience but will eventually witness the best student DJs represent their student union and institution at the regional finals.

Winners of the regional finals will then execute their skills at the final that will attract the biggest and most influential names in the industry to become the next FUTURE DJ.

Future DJ is presented by the biggest names in the industry - Hardware Corporation and Zebra Magazine and its implementation, event management and co-ordination is executed by two of the most powerful and influential tertiary student organisations - Tertiary Recreation Entertainment Victoria (TREV) and Australasian Association of Campus Activities (AACA).

TREV and AACA are also responsible for and back other tertiary student initiatives such as the National Campus Band Competition, Tertiary Student Comedy Competition and National Tertiary Art Prize to name a few.

DJ entry is only open to full time or part time tertiary students to encourage the undiscovered talent to rise up and take their first step towards a path that opens the gateway to the best of what the industry has to offer.
