Why We Love Stereosonic

If having an amazing night out were likened to having great sex (and I think it's an OK comparison), OneLove and Hardware events are the ones you remember fondly and recall while drunk, nostalgic and horny.

With a regular mix of interstate residencies and one-off showcases, the two camps have been keeping the customer satisfied for over a decade, although not at all quietly.

Last year, with Australia's thirst for a summer festival causing tickets to disappear faster than our water reserves, they decided to add yet another touring spectacular to the list of summer events.

On December 1 2007, Stereosonic was born.

It was big and it was bold and it brought together two worlds of experience, plus a list of electronic artists as long as Tall Paul's arm.

Not surprisingly, it was a huge success and it's coming back for more in 2008.

So too is the shameless party attitude, with the line-up including Acid Jacks, Infusion, Booka Shade Carl Cox, DJ Funk, DJ Hell, Faker, Midnight Juggernauts, Infected Mushroom, and on, and on, and on.

The tour takes in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, and according to the organizers it's going to 'start the Aussie Summer off with a BANG'

It's certainly going to start it off with a hangover.

The obligatory T&Cs include a number of party-safe ideas to help make your experience enjoyable and risk-free, including one that suggests you take your dancing shoes but not your glowsticks.

The offensive flouro twat-twigs are listed as a no-no and described as 'weapons'.

That alone should be enough to justify loving this event.
